Well Drilling Noise Notice
To meet our current and future water needs, the City of Milton will be drilling a replacement water supply well at our Public Works City Shop Facility located at 714 Kent Street.
Drilling of the replacement well is planned to begin on Monday March 26th and will continue for about two months. The drilling process will be noisy.
The daily work schedule will be from no earlier than 7:00 AM until no later than 7:00 PM, barring emergencies or other time-critical operations. We do not anticipate any work on weekends.
Near the end of the project, it will be necessary to complete a 24-hour long pumping test, which will require working through the night. A notice similar to this one will be provided once the test pump schedule has been defined. We don’t anticipate significant noise during the pumping test, but there will be site activity continuing through the night.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Milton Public Works Department at 253-517-2716.
