Lakeside Estates Neighborhood Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the City will be conducting a Neighborhood Meeting on July 28, 2021 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers located at 1000 Laurel Street, Milton, WA 98354. Interested parties are invited to attend.

The proposal is to construct a multi-family residential development with 16 detached single-family homes and 8 duplexes. The property has split zoning, with the portion of the parcel fronting Milton Way zoned as Business (B) to approximately 150 feet south of the property line on Milton Way. One commercial building and associated parking is proposed to be built within the portion of the property zoned Business. The remainder of the site is zoned Residential Multi-Family (RM) and will be utilized for the multi-family residential development. The project is subject to the Uptown Design District Guidelines and Standards.

Salvation Slavic Baptist Church Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the City will be holding a SEPA Administrative Appeal Hearing and a Public Hearing for the proposed Salvation Slavic Baptist Church on February 25th & 26th, 2021. SEPA Appeal Hearing has been scheduled to continue on Monday, March 15th at 9:00am, as well as April 26th & 27th at 9am, and Wednesday, April 28th at 2:30pm. The public hearing scheduled for April 26th-28th has been rescheduled for Monday, July 19th at 9am, as well as July 20th & 21st.  The Hearing Examiner will also open the public hearing on July 6th from 1pm-4pm to take the testimony of Public Works Director, Nick Afzali, who is unavailable to attend the public hearing later in July. The public is welcome to listen to the testimony on July 6th at 1pm at the same Zoom link provided below. The meeting will be held online via Zoom. Interested parties are invited to attend. A recording of this meeting will be available after the fact, and written comments may always be submitted to the City by email or mail.

Planning Commission Opening

The seven-member Milton Planning Commission reviews staff proposals, holds public hearings and submits recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, development plans and area-wide zoning proposals and text amendments.

The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. The six-year terms terminate on the 31st day of May of the corresponding year. The Planning Commission has all the powers and duties specified by Chapter 35A.63 RCW, together with any other duties of authority conferred by the laws of the State, or by Milton’s Municipal Code.

The City of Milton’s Planning Commission has a vacancy for Position #4.  The Planning Commission meets the first Monday of the month from 4-6pm. To get involved, complete the Public Service Application.

Events Committee Openings

Are you looking for a way to get involved and have a passion for community events? We have 3 openings on our Events Committee. The Events Committee is tasked with planning and coordinating community events such as the annual Milton Days, Craft Bazaar and Tree Lighting. These events wouldn’t be possible without the members of the Events Committee!!

Park Board Opening

Do you have a passion for our city parks? If so, our Park Board might just be the place for you! City of Milton Park Board recommends general policies regarding development, operation, and maintenance of recreation areas and facilities. The Park Board adopts a proposed long-range program for the acquisition and improvement of recreation areas.

We currently have two vacancies on our Park Board. Interested residents should submit an application no later than October 8, 2021 and should plan on attending the Park Board meeting on October 20th @ 6pm. Applications will be reviewed and brought to Council in November of 2021.
