Moratorium Public Hearing

On March 15, 2021, Milton City Council adopted Ordinance 2027- 21, a six-month moratorium on applications for conditional use permits in residential zones; setting a date for a public hearing; providing for severability; declaring an emergency; and establishing an immediate effective date.  A public hearing regarding this moratorium is hereby set for the 19th day of month of April 2021 at 6:30pm.

Salvation Slavic Baptist Church Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the City will be holding a SEPA Administrative Appeal Hearing and a Public Hearing for the proposed Salvation Slavic Baptist Church on February 25th & 26th, 2021. SEPA Appeal Hearing has been scheduled to continue on Monday, March 15th at 9:00am, as well as April 26th & 27th at 9am, and Wednesday, April 28th at 2:30pm. The meeting will be held online via Zoom. Interested parties are invited to attend. A recording of this meeting will be available after the fact, and written comments may always be submitted to the City by email or mail.

Public Notice of Meeting Change

The Milton City Council passed Ordinance 1992-20 on September 8, 2020, allowing a temporary meeting start time of 6:30PM during the Governor's Emergency Order No. 20-28 and all extensions of the order. This new start time will go into effect on Monday, September 21, 2020.

During virtual Regular City Council meetings (1st and 3rd Monday of each month), public comment can be taken one of two ways:

  • Participants may submit written comments by email to Trisha. Written comments must be received prior to 12:00PM on the day of the regularly scheduled Council meeting. Written comment will be distributed to City Council and noted in the meeting minutes OR
  • To speak during the public comment portion of the meeting, please call (253) 517-2705 or email the City Clerk by 5:00PM the day of the meeting to sign up. Please join the virtual meeting at 6:30PM, as public comment is at the beginning of the meeting. Council agenda and Zoom information can be found in the Council Packet.

Events Committee Openings

The Events Committee is tasked with planning and coordinating community events such as the annual Milton Days, Craft Bazaar and Tree Lighting. These events wouldn’t be possible without the members of the Events Committee!!

Planning Commission Opening

The seven-member Milton Planning Commission reviews staff proposals, holds public hearings and submits recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, development plans and area-wide zoning proposals and text amendments.

The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. The six-year terms terminate on the 31st day of May of the corresponding year. The Planning Commission has all the powers and duties specified by Chapter 35A.63 RCW, together with any other duties of authority conferred by the laws of the State, or by Milton’s Municipal Code.

The City of Milton’s Planning Commission has a vacancy for Position #4.  The Planning Commission meets the first Monday of the month from 4-6pm. To get involved, complete the Public Service Application.
