Current Openings:

Finance Director

Reporting to the Mayor, the Finance Director is responsible for maintaining the fiscal records and systems of the City and supervising department staff. The position directs the City’s accounting and reporting operations and directs the City’s cash management functions and monitors financial trends and budgeted revenues and expenditures to assure the fiscal well- being of the City. The Director also assists the Mayor and City Council in preparation of the City’s annual budget and serves as an important resource in preparing financial forecasts, financial policies, and ensuring the City’s compliance with Washington State Law and auditing requirements.

Salary range is $111,218-154,068 per year. The City of Milton pays Kaiser medical insurance or up to 90% for Regence medical plan. Vision, dental, and life insurance are city paid. PERS retirement.11 holidays plus 2 floating holidays after probation. Generous vacation accrual, sick leave and longevity pay.

Building Official

The Building Official exercises the legally mandated authority to administer, enforce and interpret all adopted construction codes and ensures all permit issuance, inspection and plan examination is performed in conformance to adopted construction codes. This is a non-exempt, represented position with a pay scale range of $7,131 - $8,668 per month. The City of Milton pays Kaiser medical insurance or up to 90% for Regence medical plan. Vision, dental, and life insurance are city paid. PERS retirement. 11 holidays plus 2 floating holidays after six month probation. Generous vacation accrual, sick leave and longevity pay.

Staff Engineer

The Staff Engineer is responsible for developing implementing, and maintaining processes and systems to facilitate the effective operation of Engineering functions. This position will provide leadership and resources to meet department goals and objectives as well as to ensure effective and efficient utilization of department personnel, funds, equipment and facilities. 

This is an exempt position; $81,843 - $113,746 per year (2024 wages under review). City pays up to 90% of Regence medical or no cost Kaiser medical and free dental, vision, EAP and $100,000 life insurance.  PERS retirement. Deferred compensation, Aflac and FSA available.  Eleven paid holidays and two additional floating holidays after six months. Eight hours of sick leave and vacation accrued per month to start.
